四、课程的性质、目的和任务:

教学对象
  本大纲的教学对象是专科升入本科学习的学生。入学时,他们应以掌握基本的英语语音和语法知识,领会式掌握2000个单词以上,并在读、听、写、说等方面受过初步的训练。
教学目的
  大学英语的教学目的是:培养学生具有较强的阅读能力和一定得听、说、写、译能力,使他们能用英语交流信息。大学英语教学应帮助学生打下扎实的语言基础,掌握良好的语言学习方法,提高文化素养,以适应社会发展和经济建设的需要。  

五、课程的教学基本要求及主要内容:

一、学习要求

1、词汇
  领会式掌握4200单词(其中服用式掌握的单词为2500),以及由这些词构成的常用词组,并具有按照基本构词法识别生词的能力。

、语法
  巩固和加深基本语法知识,提高在语篇水平上运用语法知识的能力。

、阅读能力
  能顺利阅读语言难度中等的一般性题材的文章,掌握中心大以及说明中心大意的事实和细节,并能进行一定的分析、推理和判断,领会作者的观点和态度,阅读书读达到每分钟70词。在阅读篇幅较长、难度略低、生词不超过总词数3%的材料时,能掌握中心大意,抓住主要是事实有关细节,阅读速度达到每分钟100词。

、听的能力
  能听懂英语讲课,并能听懂题材熟悉、句子结构比较简单、基本上没有生词、语速为每分钟130-150词的简短会话、谈话、报道和讲座,掌握其中心大意,抓住要点和有关细节,领会讲话者的观点和态度。

、说的能力
  能就教材内容和适当的听力材料进行问答和复述,能用英语进行一般的日常会话,能就所熟悉的话题进准备后作简短发言,表达思想比较清楚,语音、语调基本正确。

、写的能力
  能在阅读难度与课文相仿的书面材料时作笔记、回答问题、写提纲,能就一定的话题或提纲在半小时内写出120-150词的短文,能写短信和便条,表达意思清楚,无重大语言错误。

、译的能力
  能借助词典将难度略低于课文的英语短文已成汉语,理解正确,译文达意,译速为每小时300英语单词。能借助词典将内容熟悉的汉语文字材料已成英语,译文达意,无重大语言错误,译速为每小时250汉字。

read about the two reading passages

glance at a brief introduction to argumentation

practice the prefixes: inter-, mid-, mis-

take a glance at use of verbs

write about online learning experiences

Learn to write with correct numbers of nouns and articles

practice reading skills: prediction

learn to write notes of apology and online cards

visit culture salon about qualities required to study online

unit three
In this unit, you will

First listen and then talk about leisure activities
Read on leisure activities on campus
◆Take a glance at the writing style:exposition
Write about your favorite leisure-time hobby
Practice reading skills: improving your concentration
◆Take a glance at the prefixes:non-;re-;un-
◆Review the usage of attributive clause
Practice the use of verb tenses
Learn to create a poster for a music concert and an invitation card to a party
Visit culture salon about long weekends

Unit four
In this unit, you will

read about students’ self-dependent experiences
◎ take a glance at the writing style:Narration
write about your first job interview
practice reading skills: review and recall
practice for consistency in the use of verb-tenses
take a glance at the suffixes: -er/or, -ion, -tion, -ation,
-ment, -ness, -ity

practice time adverbial clauses
practice Consistency of Verb Tenses
learn how to fill in a bank account form
visit culture salon about career services
goal checking

Unit five

In this unit, you will

  • listen and  talk about  sources of information  
  • read on different kinds of sources of information  
  • take a further glance at narration
  • write about your own experience of getting information from one source
  • practice suffixes used as verb signifiers
  • take a glance at gerund as object in sentence
  • practice looking for main idea in passage
  • practice the use of consistency in tenses
  • write ads about subscriptions to magazines
  • visit culture salon about newspaper


unit six

In this unit, you will

first listen and then talk about volunteering for the Olympics

read about the voluntary work for the Olympics

write about your own experiences of being a volunteer

take a glance at the word formation: Suffixes used as adjective signifiers

review the inverted sentence

practice reading skills: finding the main idea

practice the use of active voice and passive voice

learn to design a schedule for a special event

visit culture salon about Olympic history

unit seven

In this unit, you will

first listen and then talk about learning strategies
read about how to learn effectively
take a glance at the Suffixes used as adjectives signifiers
practice the two structures: It isn't just that… but…; rather than
write about how I learn …
practice reading skills: major supporting details
practice the use of subjunctive mood
learn how to write a notice (for a lecture)
visit culture salon about quotations on learning strategies


Unit eight
In this unit, you will:   

first listen and then talk about love and friendship
read about other people’s experiences and opinions on love and    friendship
write about personal relationships
take a glance at the suffix as adjective and adverb signifier
practice reading skills: Minor supporting details
practice the use of punctuation
learn to write invitations
visit culture salon about Valentine’s Day

六、考试方式:闭卷笔试
